The Sheriff’s Office medical team includes more than 40 nurses who provide health care around the clock to the inmate population. In addition to the initial health screening at booking, nurses provide inmates with health visits, chronic care education, medication, and preventative care, and work collaboratively with other providers and sworn staff. The work of correctional nurses is complex and vital to the Adult Detention Center. We are accredited with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC).
The Sheriff’s Office is looking for NURSES who want to contribute to an active medical team at our Adult Detention Center. Correctional Health Nurse I or II, HIRING BONUS: $10,000. You’ll provide inmate patients with routine and emergency health care, make referrals to other health professionals as needed and ensure medication is administered properly. You’ll work a 12.5-hour shift on a squad schedule, 15 days per month, and equal to 87.5 hours per two-week pay period. Day shift is 6:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.; night shift is 6:30 p.m. – 7 a.m. You’ll receive additional pay, such as night and evening differential, foreign language stipend (if applicable), environmental stipend and holidays.
