Sheriff’s Intelligence Unit (SIU)
The Sheriff’s Intelligence Unit’s primary function is to enhance the security of the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and the safety of the staff, volunteers, visitors employed in the facility. Working in partnership with other local, State and Federal agencies the SIU will gather intelligence, work criminal cases and identify members of threat groups in the effort to prevent and suppress violent, disruptive and illegal activities which may undermine the safety and operations of the facility.
