Academy Instructor

The Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office Academy instructors are responsible for providing entry-level training and other mandated training to the member agencies of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy. Member agencies include the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, Fairfax County Police Department, the Towns of Herndon and Vienna Police Departments and the Fairfax County Fire Marshalls Office.

Range Instructor

The Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office has several Firearms Instructors that are responsible to provide training to recruits, deputies and police officers. This includes entry-level firearms training, marksmanship skills, assisting remedial shooters and other mandated training to the member agencies of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy. Member agencies include the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, Fairfax County Police Department and the Towns of Herndon and Vienna Police Departments.

EVOC Instructor

The Sheriff’s Office has an emergency vehicle operations instructor (EVOC) that is responsible for the training of recruited police officers, deputy sheriffs, and in-service officers. They equip the recruited students with the required skills, techniques and operational principles to safely and effectively operate emergency vehicles in the types of environments they may encounter in the profession. The instructor covers legal considerations to teach a comprehensive driver training program to law enforcement officers.
